Appointment Setter

This young company is currently going through a period of incredible growth and is seeking an experienced Appointment Setter to assist the Sales Director.  You will be part of a small dynamic team, which will increase substantially over the next 12 months. 

Based in London, you will be working for a revolutionary art publishing and distribution company which houses it’s own exclusive collections and provides galleries, interior designers and retailers a dedicated service to source and commission artwork and design. 

Your Role:

  • Identify new leads
  • Manage lead database
  • Identify decision makers and get past gatekeeper
  • Build rapport with the decision maker
  • Introduce the company, it’s concept and benefits
  • Set appointments for Sales Director
  • Handle all incoming sales enquiries
  • Feedback on issues and suggestions from clients and help create solutions

This role offers fantastic long term career opportunities, which provide an excellent basic salary, high commissions plus share options.  However initially growth and compensation are based on personal performance, therefore for a probationary period of 2 months this position is commission based only. 

The chosen candidate will work 35 hours per week, working from either home or office.

You need to:

  • Be passionate about art & design
  • Have at least 6-12 months sales/ business development experience and be adept at selling over the phone
  • Have excellent communication skills: be confident, friendly, enthusiastic and articulate
  • Be hard working, independent, and driven
  • Have excellent organisational skills
  • Be competent with Microsoft Office
  • Be extremely customer focused
  • Be sales orientated and meet lead generation and productivity targets.

Experience of sales in the art & design industry would be a distinct advantage.

NEC 2007 Success

Phew!  What a week we had at the Spring Fair.  Although it was a quiet trade show compared to previous events, it produced incredible results for us.  At the end of the 5 days we walked away with several pending orders and 53 new contacts who love our products; including 11 galleries, several charitable foundations, numerous furniture and home accessory stores, several interior designers and an art agent in Japan.  The true results generated from the show will become evident to you over the next 8 weeks as relationships are built and orders come in. 

It was hard to predict how your work would be received by trade buyers as their buying decisions are often governed by what they are sure will sell in large numbers.  This usually means neutral, earth tones of popular subject matter which are massed produced and therefore relatively cheap.  Approximately 80% of the work on sale at the show was repeated throughout (same print different frame).  The prints are supplied from 4 -5 art publishers (who were also present).  Amazingly only 20% of the stands were carrying exclusive artwork.   Not only were we one of the few stands with exclusive work, we were the only stand in our Hall which carried complete collections of ceramics and fabrics.  To boot we were the only stand in the entire show that was carrying wallpaper. 

However, the fantastic response to these products as well as the art prints proved we were in the right market with the right products at the right price, and it finally confirmed the validity of The Art Ministry’s concept and direction.  We can therefore proudly announce the show and our trade launch was an outstanding success.  

We will be in touch soon to give you more detail on the response to your work and where it came from.  In the meantime we are focusing on some changes which we believe will boost trade sales further, of which we will keep you informed.  Now the trade launch has happened all you need to do is relax and perhaps start thinking about your next collection.

Trade News

November has been an amazing month for The Art Ministry.  Having just launched this year in June we have excelled our expectations and reached our targets for trade 3 months early. 

In August we launched an advertising campaign for independent commercial agents to build a sales team to cover the UK and Ireland.   We have been very successful and now have a group of 10 agents, all of with at least 10 years experience, who span the UK and Ireland and cover over 4,000 retail outlets between them.  This sales team will take our products to galleries, specialist high street stores, interior designers, department stores, garden centres and furniture stores. 

Our Field Sales Consultant Doug Fleming, is well known to many retailers and designers thoughout the UK and Ireland, having 40 years experience.  On taking this appointment with The Art Ministry Doug says, “The exceptional value, quality and exclusivity of The Art Ministry range will make the company a first port of call, particularly for those retailers and designers seeking products for the discerning buyer.  Mass consumerism and cheap imports are fueling the public’s desire for originality, personalized items and collectibles, therefore I believe The Art Ministry has launched at the right time and is due to make it’s mark on the buying public.”

To support trade sales The Art Ministry will also be taking part in two trade fairs this Spring; The Spring Fair in the NEC in Birmingham Feb 4th – 8th, which is the largest in the country and attracts 78,000 trade buyers (not public); and the Royal Dublin Show March 25 – 28th March, which attracts 30,000 buyers (including public). 

With our sales avenues now in place, the next six months will see massive growth of The Art Ministry.  It means that artists currently with The Art Ministry or who join in December have a fantastic opportunity to get massive exposure and make some serious income next year.  We are really excited about what this means to The Art Ministry and for all the artists and designers involved.

Agents Recruitment Media Campaign

We are delighted to announce that on 12th August we launch our national media campaign to recruit commercial sales agents across the UK and Ireland.

Initially this is a three month campaign in the trade press and online with AgentBase Sales Agent Register, which was established in 1993 and is the UK’s leading national sales agent register. AgentBase have established their reputation as the leading agent specialist in the country, by successfully helping companies like ours and agents to forge a trading relationship. 

These agents will take The Art Ministry’s works to all areas of the market, including art galleries, art dealers, corporate art collectors, interior designers, hotels, furniture stores and gift outlets. These agents will help us establish our artwork and products in a wider and larger market than can be achieved through online retail or traditional routes like galleries and auctions only.
